Source Wrestling announce semi-finals of the Pride of Scotland Title Tournament

Source Wrestling have announced that the semi-finals of the Pride of Scotland Championship Tournament will take place on Saturday the 3rd of March at Centre 31 in Clydebank. Below is a rundown of the card, and show info:

Source Wrestling, Saturday March 3rd from 6:30pm. Centre 81, Clydebank.

Throughout the latter half of 2011, the Source Wrestling roster has fought hard against each other as they’ve battled for the first Source-exclusive championship. We’ve seen some cracking battles as Damian O’Conor has toppled Nathan Black, not once but twice; Scott Renwick decimated Glen Dubar for his place in the next round; CJ Hunter gained a hard fought win in a stellar cruiserweight encounter with Black Samurai Junior and the last time we were in Clydebank, Christopher Saynt won the Ultimate Survival to fill the gap when Mark Anthony was suspended from action. After a lot of epic encounters, and a few twists and turns along the way, we’re not at the finish line as the semi-finalists will battle for the chance to fight in the main event in Clydebank in a triple threat match alongside Dickie Divers, who gained automatic entry to the final for winning three Ultimate Survivals in a row!

So at we count down the days until the first Source Wrestling champion is crowned, let’s take a look at the last men standing in the Pride tournament.

Pride Championship semi-final; Damian O’Conor versus CJ Hunter In the first semi-final of the night we’ll see Damian O’Conor back in action as he takes on CJ Hunter in front of the Clydebank crowd! A former Tag Team and Laird of the Ring Champion in SWA, O’Conor qualified to this stage after a big win over the WMD member Nathan Black and has since had several high profile wins across the country, including British favourite Jack Gallagher and a SWA Tag title win over Eric Canyon and James St James in Clydebank! The aggressive heavyweight has been known to be one of the most adaptable men on the Source roster, but he’ll have to think fast to overcome his semi-finals opponent. CJ Hunter is known as an innovator and has dazzled opponents up and down the country, including Dickie Divers – who he managed to score a win over for the T-Division Championship in Motherwell last year! With two diverse and very experienced opponents eager to leave Clydebank with the Pride title over their shoulder, we can expect a cracker to open the final stage of the tournament!

Pride Championship semi-final; Scott Renwick versus Christopher Saynt Back in November when we closed our year in Clydebank, hometown hero Christopher Saynt was able to fill a vacant spot in the tournament when he won an Ultimate Survival match, gaining a win over one of Scotland’s top stars- James Scott! Having only graduated in 2011, it was an amazing victory for Saynt to represent the younger generation and move on to battle former NWA Scottish Champion Scott Renwick. Unfortunately for Saynt, Renwick hasn’t quite been the same man we all know and love lately after finally snapping over all the mental games Peter Murphy was playing in SWA. So now the energetic young cruiser weight, Saynt, will have a lot on his hands in front of his home crowd as he battles the dark, vicious side of Scott Renwick!

Pride Championship Finals’; Dickie Divers v ??? v ??? And on the same night, immediately after the semi-finals, the tournament will come to a close! Early in 2011 Dickie Divers completed a series of challenges and was given an ‘MVP’ award that entitled him to automatic entry into the Pride finals! So while two men will fight for their spot, Divers will be warming up in preparation. Some may say that he has the advantage, but as he goes into the match he’ll only have minutes to mentally prepare as he won’t know his opponents until they win their semi-finals. All in all, the Pride tournament will be a tough challenge for all and only one thing is certain; whoever wins will go down in history as the first ever Source Wrestling exclusive champion!

Also scheduled… We’ll have a lot more action from the stars of Source as we return to Centre81 Clydebank! Keep updated on SWA or our official Facebook and Twitter accounts for further information as it becomes available!
